The World's Longest Hockey Game

World's longest hockey game 2021

Our Team, Our Community

Our one and only, Evan Nygren is once again playing in the World's Longest Hockey Game in support of the Cross Cancer Institute.

February 2021, Evan will be 1 of 40 caring and courageous hockey players who will strap on their skates to challenge the Guinness World Record. They will be playing in the 7th edition of the World’s Longest Hockey Game. All while making a difference for cancer patients right here in Alberta.
Evan will be playing hockey for 251 hours straight! All with the combined goal of raising $1,500,000 in support of the Cure Cancer Foundation. Funds raised through the 2021 World’s Longest Hockey Game will go entirely to supporting a clinical study in lymphoma and solid tumor patients who are enrolled in Edmonton. Specifically, donations will be used to cover the cost for the PCLX-001 drug, examinations, patient care, and an ongoing analysis. This work is crucial in revealing the future this therapy will have in fighting cancer and saving lives not only locally, but around the world.
Funds raised by players like Evan, help ensure patients in Alberta will be the first in the world to participate in these clinical trials through the Cross Cancer Institute!

A little more about the Game

Since 2003, the World’s Longest Games have raised over $5.47 million for leading-edge equipment and research at the Cross Cancer Institute and 2021 is sure to be the best (and longest!) year yet. Players and volunteers continue to prove they have fire in their hearts and ice in their veins, with a goal of raising $1,500,000 in support of life-saving cancer research at the University of Alberta to benefit patients at the Cross Cancer Institute.
